Lisa is a passionate educator with over 30 years of experience in public education. As a former middle school English Language Arts teacher and K-12/college librarian, she is deeply motivated to help students achieve their learning goals.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s in library science from Texas Woman’s University, and recently completed a College Access Counseling Certificate from Rice University. Lisa currently works with youth as a college access advisor and English tutor for an educational nonprofit organization, as well as an independent college counselor, helping more students gain equitable access to college and career opportunities.
As a tutor and teacher, Lisa shares her love of reading and writing through interactive, customized learning activities. She also holds Texas teacher certifications in General Elementary Instruction, Secondary Reading and English, and English as a Second Language.
