She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) from the University of Washington, and is certified in K–12 ESL and English Language Arts. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she has taught in U.S. middle schools, high schools, community colleges, and universities. Her teaching areas include writing, grammar, reading comprehension, public speaking, and academic English. She has taught in the Intensive English Program at Yale University, where she supported international students in developing writing and communication skills. She has also taught a wide range of courses, from foundational English to AP-level and dual-enrollment college courses. In her teaching, she integrates language development with critical thinking, helping students strengthen both their communication skills and academic abilities. She is skilled at adapting her instruction to different student backgrounds, balancing structure with flexibility, and supporting students in applying English effectively in real-world contexts.
