Holds an MA in English Literature with distinction from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and a BA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with over 15 years of experience teaching English. He has taught English writing, critical thinking, and literature at multiple universities. His courses include English Composition, Critical Thinking, World Literature, Shakespeare, literary theory, as well as American history and immigration writing. He is highly familiar with college-level academic writing standards and grading criteria. He previously served as both an instructor and administrator at a university Writing Center, where he provided one-on-one academic writing support, focusing on essay structure, argument development, and clarity of expression. In ESL instruction, he has taught a full range of levels (ESL 101–505), covering grammar, writing, speaking, listening, reading, and Business English. He designs clear, level-appropriate learning pathways to help students transition from general English to academic and formal writing. He has taught students from China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, as well as South America, Europe, and Central Asia, and is experienced in addressing the learning needs of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
