Bede's Summer Camp - Eastbourne

Bede’s Summer School truly delivers an immersive international boarding experience. From the moment students arrive on campus, they are surrounded by a vibrant and highly international environment. The school carefully limits students of the same language background to no more than 20%, encouraging children to naturally communicate in English within a truly diverse setting. Each center is thoughtfully organized by age group, with courses designed to be both appropriately challenging and developmentally suitable. All teaching staff meet accredited UK standards, and the program uses the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach, combining English learning with engaging subjects such as science, technology, geography, and history. Through exploration, hands-on activities, and critical thinking, students improve their language skills in a meaningful and enjoyable way. The boarding campuses offer spacious and secure outdoor environments with a wide variety of activities, including sports, arts, and STEM projects, as well as 2–4 excursions each week. Beyond the classroom, students gain authentic exposure to British culture and daily life. With a high staff-to-student ratio, attentive pastoral care, modern facilities, and excellent campus environments, Bede’s ensures that every child can learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and supportive atmosphere—returning home with greater confidence, stronger English skills, and unforgettable memories.

Course Overview

The Little Explorers programme in Eastbourne offers 17.5 hours of classroom learning per week and takes place at Bede’s Prep School, specially designed for younger learners. Founded in 1895, the school is located in the beautiful seaside town of Eastbourne, just a few minutes from the beach. The campus provides a warm, family-like environment where students can learn and live safely and happily.

The English programme includes language development, story time, and exploration sessions. Students learn English through engaging subjects such as science, technology, geography, and history, making lessons both interactive and inspiring.

At midday, students enjoy lunch and relaxation/chat time to recharge. Afternoon activities include sports, dance, arts and crafts, pottery, and many other creative and hands-on experiences. Evening social activities feature karaoke, talent shows, fashion shows, and more, allowing students to immerse themselves in English language and culture in a fun and imaginative way.

Every Wednesday and weekend, students take part in supervised excursions led by school staff, visiting places of cultural and historical interest.

Bede’s staff also live within the boarding houses and are available 24 hours a day to provide support and assistance, including handling emergencies during the night. Every boarding house is managed by a dedicated House Parent responsible for students’ daily care, comfort, and wellbeing.
  • The school holds daily roll calls and briefing meetings to ensure all students are present and informed about the day’s schedule. Notice boards are also available in each boarding house for important updates and announcements. Laundry service, supervised by the House Parent, is provided at least twice a week and is included in the programme fee.
