The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Novel Study
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis is a timeless fantasy classic that introduces students to the magical world of Narnia, where four siblings step through an ordinary wardrobe and discover a land frozen under the rule of a powerful White Witch. As the children become involved in Narnia’s struggle between good and evil, they must learn courage, loyalty, and sacrifice while forming alliances and making difficult moral choices.
In this course, students will explore themes such as bravery, justice, betrayal, forgiveness, and the meaning of true leadership. Through close reading, guided discussion, and literary analysis, students will examine symbolism, character development, and the structure of fantasy worlds. Writing activities will include reflective responses, scene analysis, and creative extensions that encourage students to deepen their understanding of the story. The course strengthens reading comprehension, interpretive thinking, and expressive writing while helping students engage with classic literature in an accessible way.
